Helpful Hints

  • Always use the buddy system.
  • NWSC has a no tolerance policy for drugs and alcohol. No person under 21 is permitted to have alcohol. Alcohol is permitted on special event nights only for adults 21 and over.

We encourage all NWSC members to contact the Director of Operations or the Manager on duty with issues, concerns or problems. They are your first line of contact and will make every effort to respond to the issue with a satisfactory solution.

If a situation occurs where you feel your issue was not handled to your satisfation, any certificate member may contact the Membership Liaison.

MEMBERSHIP LIAISON

The role of the liaison is to serve as a designated neutral and independent third-party

intermediary in situations involving Northwest Swim Club (NWSC) members (or their

guests) and staff that have not been met to the member’s satisfaction. The liaison’s role is not intended to override decisions made my NWSC management and staff but rather to provide an objective alternative. It is not intended to be a primary course of action but rather one only after regular channels have been followed with a decision that the member finds unsatisfactory. It is expected that, after listening to both sides of the issue, the liaison would mediate the conflict by providing options and/or possibly even make recommendations for changes to policies based on the dispute if necessary.

Ideally the liaison should be member of the NWSC board of directors, but it may

be any other members in good standing who feel they have the appropriate skills

and qualifications for the position. It is a volunteer position with no remuneration or

compensation.

Our 2010 Membership Liaison is Bill Mattes. Bill can be reached at bmattes@nwswimclub.org.
